George Nicholas is a Sydney-based mix engineer and course contributor whose work across electronic, alt-pop, and leftfield music has made him one of Australia’s most respected finishing engineers.
Over more than fifteen years, George has built a reputation for mixes that bring depth, space, and emotional clarity to modern records, with credits including Cosmos Midnight, Winston Surfshirt, Willaris. K, Mansionair, Kilter, Roland Tings, PVT, Sarah Blasko, JOY, and Polographia. His work has contributed to multiple ARIA-recognised releases and earned international recognition, including a Grammy nomination for engineering.
Before becoming known primarily for mixing, George was also one third of influential Sydney electronic trio Seekae and part of the project Cliques, bringing a producer’s and writer’s perspective to the records he now helps finish. That broader creative background is part of what gives his mixes their distinctive balance of technical precision, musicality, and atmosphere.
Through his long period teaching with Liveschool, George contributed to students, the school’s creative culture, and the development of advanced classes in arrangement, mixing, and production that continue to inform the curriculum today.
