Develop your ideas and works-in-progress into complete tracks.

Master the art of arranging fully-formed tracks from simple ideas – creating builds, breaks, bridges, variations and drops – all while maintaining a natural flow to your song structure. This course delivers the skills, knowledge and workflow you need to turn your hard-drive full of halfway-there ideas into a production line of finished tracks, and to get you moving beyond looped sections every time you write.

  • Attendance options: in-studio or online.
  • Arrangements can be taken as a stand-alone module or as part of the full Produce Music course.
  • Knowledge requirements: to undertake the Arrangements module an advanced knowledge of Music Theory, Sound Design and Ableton Live is essential, to the equivalent covered in earlier modules of Produce Music.
  • For timetables, pricing and enrolment visit the Arrangements Module registrations page.

Features

Making the ‘music’ in your music work more effectively

Our Arrangements module overcomes key stumbling-blocks that commonly prevent producers from finishing music, while providing personalised development for each participant:

  1. Holistic Development: As you progress through the classes, you will apply the techniques to your existing works-in-progress and develop them to complete tracks.
  2. Personal Mentorship: Once you’ve grasped the core skills, the focus shifts from class-based learning to 1-to-1 mentorship weeks. This stage is where your music projects receive individual attention and guidance. Your mentor, an experienced professional in the field, will work closely with you to refine your projects and overcome blockages you’re uniquely experiencing.

This dual approach, combining focused skill acquisition with personalised mentorship, ensures that you not only gain the necessary creative abilities but also develop your song ideas more fully.

FAQ

What skills or experience do I need to have before taking the Arrangements course?

To enrol in Arrangements, you should meet one of the following criteria:

  • Completion of the modules Foundations, Music Theory and Sound Design (which are all included in the Produce Music course).
  • Equivalent skills in music production using Ableton Live, advanced Music Theory and advanced Sound Design. It is also essential you have at least two projects underway in Ableton Live and ready to develop to completion.

This course is suitable for those who are already generating compelling musical ideas, even if you haven’t completed full songs yet.

If you’re unsure about your readiness, please reach out to our team. We are more than willing to help assess your skills and guide you on the right path.

Do I need to buy anything before I start the course?

Just two things are required:

  • A copy of Ableton Live Suite. If you’ve been sharing a license you can access a free 30-day license, to get started and when you’re ready to purchase, you’ll receive a 40% discount.
  • A standard pair of wire-connected headphones (not Bluetooth-only).

A laptop is useful, but if you only have a desktop, we can provide a laptop on-site. While you’ll explore various equipment and plugins, you won’t need to purchase anything; you can create professional tracks with just Ableton Live and headphones.

What happens if I can’t make it to class?

We offer flexible options:

  1. Switch to an online session if you can’t attend in-person.
  2. Access detailed study resources at home if you miss a session. Discounted one-to-one sessions are available for in-person catch-ups.
  3. If you miss an entire module, join a waitlist to retake it at a later date.

Are Instalment Plans Available?

Yes, instalment plans are available. Start with a simple deposit followed by affordable monthly payments. For more detail visit the Arrangements Module registrations page.
