Name: Joel Farland

As an in-demand, full-time, professional drummer and percussionist, Joel Farland’s impressive career includes assignments ranging from world tours with Van She to playing La Roux, Mumford and Sons, Boy George, The Philharmonia Orchestra and UK synth pioneers ‘Heaven 17′.
His skills in combining live-playing with electronics have taken him around the world many times, recorded albums at Abbey Road, and played with headline acts at Bestival and other major international music festivals, and offering drum production advice for electronic kit luminaries Yamaha.
Learning under some of the truly great drummers of our time, Joel began percussion studies at age 10, followed by high school at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and ultimately going on to receive a full international scholarship to the Royal College of Music, London, where he graduated with First Class Honours.
Late in 2012 he started his own record label, ‘Far Land’, that has released artists Harts and Neda with remixes from Diamond Cut, French Horn Rebellion and Thrupence.
With Joel’s world-class professional achievements and lifetime of dedicated learning, it is a true privilege to have him join the ranks of exceptional teachers at Liveschool.
