Video Tutorial: Using Velocity Automation to Create a Rising Chord

Do you have a melody that lacks a bit of life? Or maybe you want to create a lead-in to a new section with your bass line? In our latest Ableton Live video tutorial, Liveschool trainer George Nicholas takes you through a simple and effective technique taking advantage of Ableton Live’s Chord MIDI device, and most importantly its often over looked velocity controls.

This is a subtle and original twist on the classic method of using the Chord plug-in, which on the surface is not a necessarily flexible device. With a bit of experimentation this little velocity automation trick can get you some really immediate and interesting results.
