What You’ll Learn
Sound design and synthesis
Design original sounds – drums, bass, leads, pads, textures – using Ableton Live’s synthesis engines and audio processing tools. Stop relying on presets and develop a sonic identity that’s distinctly yours.
Music theory for production
Apply theory directly to your productions – scales, chord progressions, rhythm, and harmony – so your musical decisions are intentional rather than accidental.
Arrangement and song structure
Turn loops and sketches into complete, structured tracks with energy, movement, and purpose – intros, builds, drops, breakdowns, and transitions that hold attention.
Mixing and mastering
Mix and master your tracks to a professional, release-ready standard – EQ, compression, spatial processing, gain staging, and mastering for streaming platforms.
Release-ready output
Graduate with a portfolio of finished, release-ready tracks – fully produced, mixed, mastered, and ready for Spotify, Apple Music, and beyond.
Professional workflow
Develop the creative process, project management habits, and production workflow to keep finishing and releasing music independently.

FAQs
To enrol in the Focus Series, you should meet one of the following criteria:
- Completion of the Foundations module (which is included in the Produce Music course).
- Equivalent skills in music production using Ableton Live, as covered in the Foundations module.
This course is suitable for those who are already generating compelling musical ideas, even if you haven’t completed full songs yet. Key prerequisites include fluency in Ableton Live, proficiency in MIDI programming, audio editing, and a basic understanding of sound design, music theory, and mixing.
If you’re unsure about your readiness, please reach out to our team. We are more than willing to help assess your skills and guide you on the right path.
Just two things are required:
- A copy of Ableton Live. If you’ve been sharing a license you can access a free 30-day license, to get started and when you’re ready to purchase, you’ll receive a 50% discount.
- A standard pair of wire-connected headphones (not Bluetooth-only).
A laptop is useful, but if you only have a desktop, we can provide a laptop on-site. While you’ll explore various equipment and plugins, you won’t need to purchase anything; you can create professional tracks with just Ableton Live and headphones.
We offer flexible options:
- Switch to an online session if you can’t attend in-person.
- Access detailed study resources at home if you miss a session. Discounted one-to-one sessions are available for in-person catch-ups.
- If you miss an entire module, join a waitlist to retake it at a later date.
Focus Series covers the same four advanced modules as Produce Music – Sound Design, Music Theory, Arrangements, and Mixing & Mastering – but without the Foundations module. It’s designed for producers who already have core Ableton Live skills and want to focus on finishing and releasing music. It’s 38 weeks vs 50 and 20% less expensive.
Yes – Sound Design, Music Theory, Arrangements, and Mixing & Mastering are all available as standalone modules. The Focus Series sequences them in a structured progression with mentorship between each, and includes lifetime alumni benefits that standalone modules don’t. It’s also better value than buying all four individually.
Yes. All sessions are available live online – same trainers, same content, same mentorship. You can switch between in-studio and online any time.
