Features

Give your finished tracks that professional polish

It’s common to think a song needs more work, when all it needs is a good mix. Our course offers a personalised experience for each participant:

  1. Holistic Development: As you progress through the classes and one-on-one mentorship, you’ll not only achieve mastery over the mixing process, but also take your finished songs to a fully mixed and mastered state ready for release. Working through Ableton Live as your core platform, you’ll gradually expand to studio hardware, industry-standard plug-ins and real-world production workflows. This comprehensive approach ensures a well-rounded skill set to hone your unique sound, style and creative processes.
  2. Personal Mentorship: after the core skills are learned you switch from class-weeks to mentor-weeks where you receive 1-to-1 mentor guidance on your mixes.
  3. Grand Finale – Graduation Session: The course culminates in a graduation session, a celebratory showcase where each participant plays their final tracks. It’s not just a conclusion but a testament to your growth and creativity during the course.

Hear the Outcomes: Don’t just take our word for it. Listen to the incredible tracks released recently by our alumni and imagine what you could create: https://blog.liveschool.net/listen

FAQ

What skills or experience do I need to have before taking the Mixing and Mastering course?

To enrol in Mixing and Mastering, you should meet one of the following criteria:

  • Completion of the Foundations and Sound Design modules (which are all included in the Produce Music course).
  • Equivalent skills in music production using Ableton Live, and advanced Sound Design. It is also essential you have at least two fully-written projects underway in Ableton Live and ready to mix to completion.

This course is suitable for those who are already finishing songs.

If you’re unsure about your readiness, please reach out to our team. We are more than willing to help assess your skills and guide you on the right path.

Do I need to buy anything before I start the course?

Just two things are required:

  • A copy of Ableton Live Suite. If you’ve been sharing a license you can access a free 30-day license, to get started and when you’re ready to purchase, you’ll receive a 40% discount.
  • A standard pair of wire-connected headphones (not Bluetooth-only).

A laptop is useful, but if you only have a desktop, we can provide a laptop on-site. While you’ll explore various equipment and plugins, you won’t need to purchase anything; you can create professional tracks with just Ableton Live and headphones.

What happens if I can’t make it to class?

We offer flexible options:

  1. Switch to an online session if you can’t attend in-person.
  2. Access detailed study resources at home if you miss a session. Discounted one-to-one sessions are available for in-person catch-ups.
  3. If you miss an entire module, join a waitlist to retake it at a later date.

Are Instalment Plans Available?

Yes, instalment plans are available. Start with a simple deposit followed by affordable monthly payments. For more detail visit the Mixing Module registrations page.
