On August 10 we held our most recent Input event at FBi Social, which provides industry insights for independent producers, with talks from artists, music industry professionals and Ableton trainers. This time round we had a line-up which covered a lot of bases – Tim Shiel ran us through how he used Ableton as the backbone for Gotye’s live show; Nathan McLay shared light on the ins and outs of running Future Classic, the label which he co-founded in 2004; up and comers Gardland performed some of their trademark improvised techno and spoke about starting their own label, Hunter and Gatherer; Ableton Certified Trainer Adam Maggs shared some sound design tips; and Vaughan Allan showcased the flexibility of Max for Live with an interactive audience controlled step sequencer.

A huge thank you again to all of the presenters, FBi Social and to Loryn Ligovich for putting the event together, it was a great day and there was some invaluable information to take home. We are already planning our next Input, so we’ll hopefully see you there!
