Turn Your Ideas into Release-Ready Tracks

Most producers can start tracks – but struggle to finish them. Tutorials teach isolated techniques, but not how everything connects. Produce Music gives you a structured path from your first session in Ableton Live through to finished, release-ready tracks.

  • Learn production, sound design, composition, arrangement, and mixing as one process
  • Build real tracks with specialist trainers and 1:1 mentorship
  • Study part-time or intensive, in Sydney or online

Graduate with finished music, the skills to keep producing, and ongoing support through the Liveschool alumni network.

Who This Course Is For

Produce Music is designed for anyone who wants to learn music production from the ground up — no prior experience needed. If you can use a computer, you can start this course.

You’ll begin with the fundamentals of Ableton Live and music creation, then progress through sound design, theory, arrangement and mixing – developing your own tracks as you go. By the end, you’ll have the skills and a portfolio of finished, release-ready music to show for it.

Already producing music? If you’re comfortable in Ableton Live and have projects underway, you may not need the Foundations module. Our Focus Series covers the same advanced modules (Sound Design, Music Theory, Arrangements, Mixing & Mastering) in a shorter timeframe. Get in touch and we’ll help you find the right starting point.

FAQs

What skills or experience do I need to have before taking this course?

No prior experience in music or advanced technology skills are necessary. Basic computer skills (navigation, opening, saving, etc) are enough to get started. The course covers everything else you’ll need.

For those already skilled in Ableton Live, perhaps even releasing or completing full songs, you may skip the Foundations module and directly join the Focus Series. Feel free to contact our team to discuss this option.

Do I need to buy anything before I start the course?

Just two things are required:

  • A copy of Ableton Live. First-time users can access a free 90-day license, and when you’re ready to purchase, you’ll receive a 50% discount.
  • A standard pair of wire-connected headphones (not Bluetooth-only).

What happens if I can’t make it to class?

We offer flexible options:

  1. Switch to an online session if you can’t attend in-person.
  2. Access detailed study resources at home if you miss a session. Discounted one-to-one sessions are available for in-person catch-ups.
  3. If you miss an entire module, join a waitlist to retake it at a later date.

Are payment plans available?

Yes, we offer flexible instalment plans. Begin with a deposit and pay the rest in manageable monthly instalments. For more details, follow the timetable links above. Note: some payment plans require early enrolment.

What’s the difference between part-time and full-time?

Both formats cover the same curriculum with the same trainers. Part-time runs over 50 weeks with evening and weekend classes, so you can fit it around work or study. Full-time intensive runs 6-8 weeks of immersive classes followed by 16 weeks of remote mentoring – ideal if you want to fast-track or you’re coming from interstate or overseas.

Can I take this course online?

Yes. All sessions are available live online – same trainers, same content, same mentorship. You can switch between in-studio and online any time throughout the course.

What software do I need?

The course is built around Ableton Live. You can start with a free 90-day trial licence, and enrolled students save 50% on Ableton Live Suite when they’re ready to purchase. No other software purchases are required – everything else is provided.

What if I already have some production experience?

If you’re already comfortable in Ableton Live and have projects underway, you may be better suited to our Focus Series – which covers Sound Design, Music Theory, Arrangements, and Mixing & Mastering without the Foundations module. Get in touch and we’ll help you figure out the right starting point.
